Recycling at Rock Rose Gin
Dunnet Bay Distillers have launched recyclable pouches for their Rock Rose Gin range. They state that: "Delivered, as well as returned, through the letterbox, the sustainable packaging also significantly reduces the energy spent in shipping our Rock Rose gin to customers, with the pouches weighing just 65 grams rather than the 700 grams for a bottle." Also, as part of their overall green strategy, the Distillers hope to have a fully biodegradable refill by the year 2025. Biodegradable items are essential in our fight against climate change as it reduces the build up of waste over many, many years of humans inhabiting the planet. Every time we cannot recycle an item, which is also not biodegradable, it poses potential risks for wildlife such as the release of dangerous chemicals and trapping. Without wildlife to maintain a balanced ecosystem, our planet suffers as a result.
